Dean Briggs
Winston Dean Briggs, 88, passed away on Octo­ber 3, 2014 in Medford, Or­egon.
Dean was born on May 26, 1926 in Ridgedale (Po­catello Valley). Idaho and was the youngest son of Charles Quincy and Anna Leigh Fallis Briggs.
He graduated from Malad High School. After attend­ing Purdue University as an ROTC cadet, he transferred to and graduated from the University of North Caro­lina.
Dean was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and this be­came his life career. He re­tired with the rank of Cap­tain in 1970. While in the service, Dean attended Har­vard Business School and after his retirement worked for H & R Block .
He married Mary LaRuc Harris of Woodruff, Idaho on March 27. 1948. They lived in many places due to Dean’s career, ending up in Virginia. I n 2007, Dean and LaRue moved to the Rogue Valley Manor in Medford . Oregon .
Dean is survived by his wife, Mary LaRue Briggs. He was preceded in death by his parents and ten older siblings.
Services with military honors were provided at Dean ‘s final resting place at Eagle Point National Cem­etery located near Medford, Oregon .
