W.J. TAPPER FUNERAL HELD IN BOSTON

Funeral services were conducted recently in suburban Boston for William J. Tapper, 89, former State Senator and Representative and the father of Lyle G. Tapper, Sr. of Malad.

Mr. Tapper, State Senator from Lincoln County during sessions of 1935, 1937 and 1939, also served in the House in 1925, 1927 and 1929.

He was born November 5, 1873 in Monona, Iowa, and was graduated from the University of Iowa as a pharmacist and was one of the early settlers on the Richfield irrigation tract, moving there in 1909. During his life time he became a rancher and cattleman and also was active in civic affairs.

He was director of the Big Wood Canal Co., the American Falls Irrigation Dist. No. 2, was director and president of the First State Bank of Richfield and was a member of the Methodist Church and Richfield Lodge No. 70 AF & AM.

Survivors include three sons, Lyle, Malad; Robert, Dover, Massachusetts; Thomas Tapper, Kellogg, ID; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a nephew, James W. Tapper, Boise.
