William Henry Green

William (Bill) Henry Green, 78, passed through the veil to join the rest of his loving family, February 17, 2009 in Ogden. He was born and raised on a farm in Kanesville to William Ammon and Nellie Marguerite Norton Green, July 9, 1930. He and his family moved to a farm in Emmett, Idaho for 5 years. In 1952 he returned to Ogden. Bill married Bonnie Jeanne Fowler June 5, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple, she preceded him in death March 1, 1989.
He worked for Amalgamated Sugar, Idaho Power and he owned and operated farms in Richmond, UT; Clifton, ID and Downey, ID. He worked at the Utah State Industrial School for 27 years as a youth counselor. He owned and operated Green Disposal until his retirement in 1989. He was a very hard worker and a man who never quit. His life could be summarized by saying “The Heights of great men earned and kept were not attained by sudden flight but they while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night”.
Bill was a terrific family man, a wonderful father and a fantastic grandfather.
He is survived by his children: Bill (Debbie) Green of Ogden; Janel (Larry) Higgs of Ogden; Amy (Jon) Gladwell of Uintah; Emily (Jason) Mercer of Ogden; son-in-law Paul Tuveson of Roy; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Colleen Christian, brother-in-law Cliff Rice; sisters-in-law Joyce Nelson (Paul deceased) and Joanne Butcher (Leonard deceased) and his step-brother Niel Schoenberger of Malad.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, daughter Kathy Tuveson and son Brian Green; two grandchildren, Racheal and Brandon Lee; two sisters, Marian Green (Robert) Child; Joyce Green Rice and step-mother “Ina Schoenberger.
