WILLIAM D. THOMAS, 81, DIED HERE TUESDAY

William Dredge Thomas, age 81, Malad, died March 30, 1976 of a long illness in the Oneida County Hospital.

He was born June 7, 1894 in Malad, a son of David Sparrey and Alice Dredge Thomas. He married Amy Sawyer Dec. 16, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a farmer and a truck driver, an active member of the LDS Church, and served a mission in the Southern States in 1919, and served a Canadian mission in 1973. He was veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his widow, Malad; one son and four daughters: Gerry Thomas, Los Angeles, CA; Mrs. William H. (Opal Jean) Armstrong, Sacramento, CA; Mrs. Donna Marie Criddle, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Keith (LaJuana) Atkinson, Malad; Mrs. Joseph g. (Connie) Wise, Richland, WA; 25 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one brother and one sister; Mrs. Lizzie Thomas Bergman, Idaho Falls; Herbert D. Thomas, Ogden.

Funeral service will be Saturday in the Malad Third LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Phil Gillies officiating. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
