WAYNE M. THOMAS

Wayne “Little Cowboy” M. Thomas, 78, Malad, died April 7, 1990 in the Oneida County Nursing Home.

He was born April 4, 1911 in Malad to Daniel J. and Winifred Morgan Thomas. He grew up and was educated in Malad and Pocatello. As a young man he worked on farms and ranches in the Pocatello area.

He married Ann Tate Oct. 2, 1939 in Blackfoot. For a short time he lived in Inkom and later Salt Lake City. In 1950 he returned to Malad and for several years was employed with many Malad area ranchers and farms.

He loved the cowboy life and enjoyed horses and working with cattle.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Garry Lee Thomas, Pocatello; one daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Lou Ann) Thomas, Malad; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth (Karen) Wharton, Malad; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Lynn Thomas, Macon, GA; and one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Helen) Roberts, Pocatello. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Wayne Thomas.

Funeral services were held April 10, 1990 in the Benson Horsley Funeral Home with Bishop Rex Daniels officiating.
