POWELL, WILLIAM ALLAN, December 13, 1947 – June 23, 2008

POCATELLO – Our beloved father, brother and nephew, William Allan Powell, returned home to his Father in Heaven on June 23, 2008, after numerous years of struggling with a variety of physical afflictions.

Allan was born December 13, 1947 in Logan, Utah to William Jenkins and Ruth Price Powell. Allan was raised in Clifton, Idaho, where he developed lifelong skills and hobbies that defined his personality. Allan attended West Side High School in Dayton, Idaho, where he was an active member of the wrestling team.

Allan loved the rural community and especially enjoyed working with his father on the farm. It was on the farm where he learned to work long and hard hours. He also learned the skills which enabled him to be an avid outdoorsman. After high school Allan continued his education at Bridgerland Technical School in Logan, UT.

Allan loved working with his hands and enjoyed helping others when he could. In addition to farming, Allan also worked at Ron Keller Tire, Logan Manufacturing Company, Bosen’s and Del Monte. In addition to his love of the outdoors, Allan loved spending time with his family. He was a prankster and always enjoyed a good laugh.

Allan was a member the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Allan married Suzzette Bowcutt on January 19, 1968. Together they had seven children – three sons and four daughters. They divorced in 1990.

Allan is survived by his children, Steve Allan, Boise, ID; Stephanie Buttars, Preston, ID; Shandell (Chad) Hebdon, Preston, ID; Susan Danice, Salt lake City, UT; Shalyn (Rose), Preston, ID; Scott Christopher (Stevie), Preston, ID; Samberly (Lucas) Westover, Clifton, ID; 17 grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann (Ray) Johnson; and two nieces. Allan was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Funeral services will be held June 27, 2008 at the Clifton First Ward Chapel in Clifton, ID. Interment will take place at the Clifton City Cemetery, Clifton, ID.
