Denney, Dean – 13, December, 1935

Willard Dean Denney, 59, of Downey, died early Saturday, May 6, at his home of apparent heart failure. He was born December 13, 1935, in Downey, a son of Charles Oliver and Ruth Coe Henwood Denney. He was raised and educated in Downey and was a graduate of Downey High School Class of 1954. Dean worked as a carpenter, owned and operated the Texaco Service Station for several years, and since 1982 had farmed and raised cattle. He was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dean enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing. He was a life long New York Yankee Fan and a B.Y.U. Cougar fan.

He is survived by two brothers and their wives: Glen and Gloreen Denney; Robert and Mary Denney; and one sister, Ruth D. Foster, all of Downey; three nieces and five nephews, He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 12 noon in the Downey LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Downey City Cemetery.
