BURLEY – Neva Parris Denton, 69, Route 1 Box 1442, Burley, died Tuesday (25 Mar 1986) at her daughter’s home in Kaysville, Utah, following an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 17, 1916 in Marsh Center, to Joseph Hamilton and Patricia Maud Hickman Parris and was reared at Marsh Center.

On Aug. 28, 1933, she married William “Ray” Denton in Malad. They made their home at Hawkins Basin and Marsh Center until 1957 when they moved to Mackay. They also lived at Wendell and Jerome prior to moving to Burley in 1972.

Mrs. Denton had been employed at Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company. She worked at Potato Processing at the table and then in the laboratory. The past seven years, she has worked at the Cassia County Museum in Burley.

She was a member of the LDS Church, served as Primary teacher and attended Relief Society. She enjoyed music, sewing, making her children’s clothes, crocheting and home canning.

Survivors include her husband of Burley; a son, William Larry Denton, Anchorage, Alaska; four daughters, Patricia “Pat” Grambow, Kaysville, Utah; Jennie Perkins, Burley; Trudy Kent, Twin Falls; Gayle Lambrose, Kaysville; a brother, Lynn Parris, Moreland; a sister, Mrs. Jonathan H. “Jack” (Donna) McDaniel, Arimo; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawna Frasure, two brothers and a sister.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel. Jonathan H. “Jack” McDaniel, former bishop of the LDS Church, will officiate.
