Walter Schwartz, age 54 died at Couer d’Alene
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Couer d’Alene for Walter Schwartz, age 54, who died June 1st in Kootenal Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Burial was in the Restlawn Cemetery at Hayden Lake, Idaho.
Mr. Schwartz was born Dec. 7, 1917 at Daniels, Oneida County, to Gottlieb B. and Freda Feller Schwartz.
He married Lucille Bingham Mar. 24, 1938, in the Logan Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but was later divorced. He later was married to Irene Downs in 1969 at Couer d’Alene.
Mr. Schwartz received his education in the Daniels and Malad schools and was a graduate of Malad High School. He lived in Malad until 1949 when he moved to Dillon, Mont. He moved to Couer d’Alene in 1969. He was a member of the LDS Church.
Mr. Schwartz was employed as head trainer of race horses at Spokane and Couer d’Alene.
Survivors include his wife of Couer d’Alene; four sons, Gary Walter of Syracuse, Utah; Dr. Stanley Lester of Missoula, Montana; Robert B., of Troy, Mont., and Timothy Lee Schwartz of Ogden, Utah; four stepchildren, and 10 grandchildren; a brother a sister, Darrel Schwartz and Mrs. Nephi Bud (Elna) John, both of Malad City.
Darrell Schwartz accompanied his nephews, Gary, of Syracuse, Utah, and Tim, Ogden, to Coeur d’Alene Monday. His wife and sons, Tyler, Malad; Anthony, Smithfield; Brian, of Gunnison, Utah, and Maurice, Rexburg, joined them Friday. Also attending the services were Mr., and Mrs. Bud John, Malad; Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Schwartz, Logan; Prof. Robert Schwartz, Rexburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Larsen, Ogden.
