Walter A. Scott, 8 February 1913

Walter A. Scott, 83, longtime Stone area resident, passed away September 26, 1996 at his home. He was born February 8, 1913 in Salt lake City, UT, a son of George Lawson and Sarah Wilkson Miles Scott. He was raised and educated in Black Pine and Holbrook. As a young man of 15, he learned the trade of blacksmith from his father and since then had worked as a blacksmith and a welder.

He married Jiammia Neal March 22, 1933 in the Logan LDS Temple. They resided for a short time in Layton, UT and Portland, OR. Most of their married life they resided in Stone.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was a High Priest.

He is survived by his wife, Jiammia, of Stone; two sons and their spouses: Neal and Annette Scott, Idaho Falls, and Brent and Laure Scott, Stone; four daughters and their spouses: Lenna and Russell Roe, Stone; Karen Stokes, Ogden, UT; Myrna Stokes, Twin Falls; and Eunice and Frank Robles, Pocatello; 37 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; two sisters: Lydia Hess, Jerome; and Emma Palmer, Preston. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Janice Durfee; four grandchildren; one great grandchild and five brothers.

Funeral services were held September 30, 1996 in the Curlew LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Snowville Cemetery.
