DEATH ANGEL CALLS MOTHER OF 8 CHILDREN

Mrs. John H. Pilgrim passed to the great beyond on Monday afternoon, March 2, [1931]at 4:45 p.m., at her home in Pleasantview after an illness of four months duration. Complications which set in following this illness were the cause of her death.

Mrs. Pilgrim was born at Smithfield, Cache County, Utah, August 10, 1887 and came to Pleasantview to make her home thirteen years ago, where she has taken an active part in auxiliary organizations of the L.D.S church of which she was a member having been president of the Y. L. M. I. A. for a number of years prior to her death. She also taught school at Franklin and Treasureton, Idaho, before her marriage.

She was the daughter of James and Margaret G. Hadfield and is survived by her mother who resides in Smithfield; her husband J. H. Pilgrim of Pleasantview; eight children, Ray H. Margaret, Vilda, Helen, J. Max, Don L. Gean G., and Lawrence Vo[sic]; and brothers and sisters as follows: James H. Hadfield of Cardston, Canada; John G. Hadfield of Smithfield; William and Eairl Hadfield of Malad, and Mrs. W. F. Pratt of Preston and Mrs. Margaret H. Bingham of Smithfield.

The funeral services were held today at 2:00 p.m., in the Pleasantview ward chapel with Bishop N. R. Ipsen presiding. The invocation was given by W. Peter Camp, Sr., and the speakers were Hyrum Jones, Harry Brown, Mrs. W. H. Richards, Mrs. Pheobe Smith, Pres., D. P. Woodland and George Dane of Smithfield. Musical numbers were beautifully rendered by the Gleaner Girls of the Pleasantview M. I. A., D. G. Smith of Smithfield, and the ward choir.

The remains will be taken to Smithfield for interment.
