Our much loved sister, aunt and friend, Viola Kent Morgan, 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, June 20, 1003, at her home in Malad.

Viola was born January 8, 1924, a daughter of Daniel W. and Clara Margaret Nielsen Kent in Malad. She attended her early school years in a little schoolhouse in St. John, Idaho. She was a graduate of Malad High School and later received a teaching certificate at Albion. Viola taught school in Holbrook and then Malad Elementary for 37 years. During that time she received her B.S. degree at U.S.U. She married Leland L. Morgan April 13, 1946 and their marriage was later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple in 1965.

Viola was an active member of the Malad Third Ward. She enjoyed her recent calling as a Sunday School class president.

In the early years of their marriage, Lee and Viola lived on the Morgan Ranch at Deep Creek. They were always hard workers and Viola continued that tradition after Leland passed away in 1994. She always had a wonderful garden, which she was more than willing to share with family and friends. Viola had several illnesses in her life, but she was a fighter and had been doing very well. Even though Lee and Viola had no children of their own, they had nieces and nephews who loved them very much.

Viola is survived by her brother, James N. (Norine) Kent, Spokane, Washington, and a large group of very supportive In-laws: Jeanine Kent, Fielding, Utah, Lydia (Hershey) Thomas, Centralia, Washington; Ed Jr. (Carma) Morgan, Moscow, Idaho; Bill Morgan, Missoula, Montana; Katherine (Terrell) Tovey, Hermission, Oregon; Cleve (Kay) Morgan, Soda springs, Idaho; Glen Dee (Delores) Morgan, Lewiston, Idaho; Helen Morgan, Rigby, Idaho and many close and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two baby sisters and a brother Dan N. Kent.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at 12 noon in the Malad LDS Third Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
