Christina Spareboom Miller

MILLER, CHRISTINA S., March 13, 1929 – August 7, 2008

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Christina Spareboom Miller, passed away quietly in her sleep early in the morning, August 7, 2008 in Sandy, UT.

Christina was born on March 13, 1929 to Peter Spareboom and Anneke Vermy. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granite High School.

On September 30, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart, Herman Miller, Jr., in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 27 years before Herman passed away.

Christina and Herman were blessed with eight wonderful children: Steven (Phyllis), Lynnette (Gary) Starling, Douglas (Donell), Linda (Stein) Sandberg, Roger (Valerie), Howard (Zina), Peter-deceased, (Vonda), and Michael (Robbie).

She is survived by seven children, 45 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; brother, Peter Spareboom, Jr., and a sister, Cora Adams.

Her hobbies included ceramics, china painting, tole painting, sewing, reading, needlepoint, quilting and crocheting.

Christina left a legacy of love, faith and service. She was very active in the LDS Church. Chris was very p roud of the fact that all six of her sons, both of her sons-in-law and many of her grandsons were Eagle Scouts.

Funeral services were held August 12 in the Goff Mortuary, Salt Lake City. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
