Verla Rae Rose Monson

MONSON, VERLA RAE ROSE, April 18, 1940 – No death date (March, 2006)

BLACKFOOT – Verla Rae Rose Monson, 65, of Blackfoot, Idaho and former Malad, Idaho resident passed away at the home of Mike and Deana Burnett of natural causes. She was born April 18, 1940 in Malad, a daughter of Verlo Willard and Leah Hess Rose. She was raised and educated in Malad.

On June 29, 1955, she married Wendell Leon Monson at the home of his parents in St. John, Idaho. Verla Rae has enjoyed life with her husband and seven children, being a mother, companion, Sunday School teacher, Primary teacher, truck driver, rancher, farmer and other duties too numerous to mention.

When Leon’s health failed, they moved back to Blackfoot to be closer to their family.

Verla Rae is survived by her six children: Debbie Maddox of Blackfoot; Donna (Jim) Booth of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Diana Grover of Malad; Dalena (Paul) Wareing of Idaho Falls, Idahop Darin (Juanita) Monson of Blackfoot; Deana (Mike) Burnett of Blackfoot; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Verla Rae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Denease Latham.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 8 at the Horsley Funeral Home. Burial followed in the St. John Cemetery.
