Verda Nielsen Willie Wadsworth, (1920)

WADSWORTH, VERDA NIELSEN, January 15, 1920 – April 25, 2008

FARR WEST – Our loving wife, mom and grandmother and sister, Verda Nielsen Willie Wadsworth passed away April 25, 2008 due to complications from a stroke. She was born January 15, 1920 in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of James Peter Nielsen and Olive Olson.

Verda married Robert LeGrande Willie in Malad, Idaho on November 28, 1937, deceased. She married Norman E. Wadsworth in Evanston, Wyoming June 25, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

She was a member of the LDS Westwood Ward. She has served as a Relief Society President. She had a special love for the Young Women and has been Young Women’s President several times. In the last few years she has served extensively with the Name Extraction and the Family History program.

Verda was raised on a farm in Holbrook, Idaho, where she learned the ethics of hard work. She loved her horses and goats. She loved to crochet, and made many quilts for family and friends. Above all else she dearly loved her family. Also, her many friends were very precious to her.

She is survived by her children, Ned (Barbara) Willie of Hooper; and Glen (Diane) Willie of Plain City; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one sister, Carolyn (Ferrell) Neal of Snowville, UT, and one brother, Harold (Darlene) Nielsen of Malad, ID.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Willie; two brothers, Glen Nielsen and Albert Nielsen.

Funeral services will be held April 30, 2008 at the Farr West Westwood Ward. Interment will be at the Plain City Cemetery.
