THOMAS MARVIN ROBBINS
Thomas “Tommie” Marvin Robbins, 62, our loving husband, father, uncle and friend passed away at home on Monday, July 9, 2012.
Tommie was born January 2, 1950 in Tremonton, UT to Julia Simmons and Thomas Robbins, Sr. He grew up surrounded by his huge extended family in the Stone, ID area and Pocatello. Tommie graduated from Malad High School in 1968. He was a hospital corpsman in the US Navy stationed with the Marines from 1968 to 1972 during the Vietnam conflict.
It was during this time that he met his wife to be, Colleen Craig in San Diego. They were married in Pocatello, ID on November 24, 1972 where they later raised two children, Jolene and Craig. Tom worked for 21 years, and retired from the United Parcel Service.
Tommie loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid softball player, fisherman and hunter. We have many fond memories of our softball and camping trips with his team members and friends. He was a diehard Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Braves fan. Many arguments arose over who was going to win the Super Bowl or World Series.
Tommie is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Colleen Robbins, Chubbuck; daughter, Jolene Robbins (Nick Charter), Pittsburgh, PA; son, Craig Robbins (Shauna Biggs), Pocatello; sister, Cheryle Jones, Pocatello; brothers, Bob (Barbara) Robbins, American Falls; Chris (Julie) Robbins, Tooele, UT; Monte (Cindy) Robbins, Muncie, IN; and Curt (Micky) Robbins, Ogden, UT; numerous nieces and nephews; a loving family of aunts and uncles that have been more like brothers and sisters than we can count.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Julia Robbins. Our only regret is that Tom will not be here to hold his new granddaughter due to Craig and Shauna in November.
Funeral services will be held July 14, 2012 at Downard Funeral Home, Pocatello, ID.
Tom’s passing was sudden and unexpected. We would like to express our deep appreciation for all the expressions of love, support, concern and kindness shown during this difficult time.
