Julia Simmons Robbins, (1927)

ROBBINS, JULIA SIMMONS, December 27, 1927 – September 14, 2008

POCATELLO – Our loving mother, sister and grandmother, Julia Simmons Robbins passed away September 14, 2008 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello after a sudden illness.

Julia was born in Beaver Dam, UT on December 27, 1927 to Marvin and Aileen Simmons. She graduated in 1946 from Bear River High School in Tremonton, UT. She worked at Tremonton Hospital for two and a half years.

On November 9, 1948 she married her pen pal, Thomas M. Robbins. They were married for more than 47 years until his death in January, 1996. They lived in Stone, ID, Tremonton, UT and Ogden, UT and Pocatello, ID.

Julie and Thomas raised six children, Tommie (Colleen), Pocatello, Robert (Barbara), American Falls, Chris (Julie), Tooele, UT, Monty (Cindy), Muncie, Indiana, Cheryle Jones, Pocatello and Curt (Mickie), Ogden, UT. She has 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is survived by three brothers, DeWayne (Jean) Simmons, Salt Lake City, Darold (Florence) Simmons, Salt Lake City, and Gerald (Marlene) Simmons, Tremonton, UT.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister.

Julia was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Auxiliary for 30 years. She loved her Eagles family.

There will be a memorial for Julia on September 20, 2008 at the Eagles Lodge, Pocatello.
