Thomas Merlin Robbins, 12 February 1927

Thomas Merlin (T.M.) Robbins, 68, passed away January 20,1996 at his home.

Mr. Robbins was a longtime Pocatello resident. He was born February 12, 1927 in Stone, ID. He was a World War II Army veteran and lifetime member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a 30 year member of Eagles FOE No. 119, and past president and member of the REAC Club. Tom was a member of the LDS Church.

Tom loved to fish, hunt, play cards and watch his garden grow.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Julia Simmons Robbins; five sons, Tommie (Colleen), Pocatello; Bob (Barbara), American Falls; Chris (Julie), Pocatello; Monty (Cindy) Muncie, Ind.; and Curt (Mickie), American Falls; a daughter, Cheryle, Pocatello; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; seven brothers, John (Sondra), David (Marlene), Dick (Susie), Rex (Sarah), Dale, Alvin (June) and Milton (Melanie); six sisters, Hazel (Glen) Jones, Helen (Bill) Stratton, Eileen (Farrell) Williams, Marion (Carl) Rhodes, Mary Ann (David) Reel, and Vickie.

He was preceded by his father, Hurbert Merlin, mother, Helen Francis and stepmother, Ruth.

Funeral services will be February 1 at Downard Hansen Funeral Home with military rites by the combined veterans’ groups of Pocatello; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 735; American Legion Post 4; Disabled American Veterans Chapter 3 and the Fleet Reserve Assn. No. 133.
