THOMAS MORGAN DIES THURSDAY MORNING

Thomas Morgan, 85, died November 3, 1960 at the Oneida Hospital after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. in the Malad Fourth Ward chapel with Bishop Colen H. Sweeten, Jr. officiating.

Mr. Morgan, who has been a resident of Oneida County for 80 years, was born May 31, 1975 at Treorky, Wales to David and Mary Morgan. He was reared and educated at Samaria. He married Margaret Richards, Oct. 19, 1902 at Samaria and the marriage was solemnized Jan. 21, 1914 in the Logan LDS Temple. The family lived at Samaria and Pleasant View.

A farmer, Mr. Morgan was interested in music and played in dance orchestras in the valley and conducted a band. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church and had been a choir member for many years, as well as a chorister, ward teacher, Sunday School superintendency, member, president of the Elders Quorum and held other offices.

He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Mary) Gleed, Malad; Mrs. Kenneth (Myra) Knudsen, Salt Lake City, and a son, Thomas R. Morgan, Las Vegas, Nevada; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Friends may call at the home of Hubert Gleed, 500 North Main, after 6 p.m., Sunday and Monday prior to the services. Benson Funeral Home will direct the burial in the Malad City Cemetery.
