The long and colorful career of Thomas L. Davis, 67 year old Box Elder county cattleman, and chairman of the county commission, was ended by death Saturday night after a valiant but losing three-day battle against a heart ailment.

Mr. Davis was born at Willard Utah, on January 21, 1872, the son of Thomas A. Davis and Margaret Ellen Davis. He was reared and educated in Box Elder county, where he lived most of his life.

He married Cosa P. Wood on November 15, 1900, at Salt Lake City and they had three children, all of whom survive. His wife died about one year ago.

A thirty-second degree Mason at the time of his death, he had been a member of the organization for 40 years.

He served as a member of the Box Elder county commission for 12 years, and at various times during his career, was chairman of the road committee of the Associated Civic clubs of Northern Utah, chairman of the Box Elder selective service board, a member of the county welfare board, president of the Box Elder chamber of commerce, chairman of the Box Elder L. D. S. stake Old Folks committee a member of the advisory board of the Taylor grazing administration for the Promontory district, organizer for the Box Elder County Fair association, chairman of the Peach day celebration in Brigham City and president of the Box Elder Cattlemen’s association.
