Thomas H. Lusk

LUSK, THOMAS H., March 8, 1922 – March 19, 2006

Thomas H. Lusk passed away at his home in Mt. Pleasant, Utah on March 19, 2006 while doing his ranch chores.

Tom was born on March 8, 1922 in Malad, Idaho, to Thomas Jenkins and Maria Williams Lusk. He was the fourth of six children. Tom married Glenna Peel on July 1, 1948, and was later sealed to her in the Logan Temple. Glenna passed away in 1980. Tom married Patricia Stephens in 1992, and was later divorced. Tom learned his love of sheep, horses, riding and nature from working with his father as a youth. Tom was a World War Ii veteran, where he served as a nose gunner in a B-24 bomber in the Army Air Corps. Following the war, Tom worked in construction until moving to Mt. Pleasant in 1966. During his 40 years in Mt. Pleasant, he was a sheep rancher. Tom was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the youth and shared his love of nature with them through Scouting.

He was a Scout leader to many young men through the year, and was serving as assistant Scoutmaster at the time of his passing. He was awarded the Silver Beaver for his many years of Scout leadership. He also served as a member of a Bishopric and Stake High Council.

Tom is survived by his sons Thomas Fredrick (Ellen), Mt. Pleasant; Brent Darwin, Arco, Idaho, and Kevin H., Mt. Pleasant; and daughters Jannette Lusk-Unterborn, Salt lake City; and Tana Jo (Ross) Allen, Colorado Springs. He is also survived by sisters Mary (Orrin) Husby, Harrisburg; and Margaret Larsen, Clearfield; and by 17 grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. H was preceded in death by his wife Glenna, daughter Cheri Forsyth, granddaughter Glenna Allen and sisters LaVena Christensen, Rhea Jenson, and Donna Vhe Buttars. Tom is also survived by all those who loved and revered him as “Uncle Tom”.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23 at the Mt. Pleasant Stake Center. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Rasmussen Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant and Thursday 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church.
