Davis J. Lusk

Davis J. Lusk, 81, of Aberdeen, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1992, at the Power County Nursing Home, American Falls. He was born on April 26, 1911, in Malad, Idaho, the youngest of 10 children of William Jefferson and Mary Ann Jenkins Lusk.

He married Merle Reynolds, the great love of his life, in Logan, Utah July 11, 1933. They were later sealed for time and eternity in Logan LDS Temple on Jan. 20, 1948.

Dave was a master carpenter who took pride in the many beautiful homes he built in Oneida County and Aberdeen. He loved sports, animals and especially horses. He raised thoroughbreds and was a member of the Malad Valley Posse and the Aberdeen Boots and Saddle Club.

During World War II he was employed in Ogden, Utah at the Ogden Arsenal (Hill Field) in the government building work.

Dave and his family moved to Aberdeen in January of 1958 where he was a city building inspector.

He was a High Priest in the Aberdeen Third Ward and worked in the home extraction program for four years. He was a faithful home teacher until his illness.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Merle, of almost 60 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne (Jack) Holt and Maria (Blair) Whiting of Salt Lake City, Utah.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth (LaRae) of Redmesa, Colo.; Scott of Aberdeen and his fiance Leslie Fitte of Kailua, Hawaii.; his brother, Cleon of Malad; 16 grandchildren; 19 great­grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters and one daughter-in-law, Maxine Taylor Lusk.

We wish to express our gratitude to the nursing staff of the Power County Nursing Home for their loving care.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1993, at noon at the Aberdeen Third Ward. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Aberdeen Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Mortuary, American Falls.
