Glen Julius Lundquist

Glen Julius Lundquist, 17 October 1915

Glen Julius Lundquist, 88, of Malad, passed away December 30, 2003 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born October 17, 1915 in Malad, a son of Charles and Annie Jenkins Lundquist. He was raised and educated in Malad. As a youth, Glen worked on farms and herded sheep.

He married Fay Bell from Cherry Creek on July 1, 2935 in Brigham City, UT. Glen and Fay spent 50 years in California, raising three sons. While there, Glen worked for the Crown Zellerback Co. for 35 years. Following retirement, they returned to Malad.

Glen lost his sweet wife, Fay, of 66 years in May of 2001. He loved horses, camping, traveling and fishing. He especially loved the summer vacations when his sons would come to Malad with their children, so he could teach them to fish and show them where to find them. He knew all the mountains surrounding Malad very well.

Glen has been a member of the American Legion for 55 years. He and Fay were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on August 25, 1996 and he has said that was the most important day of his life. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

Glen is survived by two sons: Rex (Linda) of Malad and jack (Debra) of Huntington Beach, CA; one daughter in law, Kay Lundquist of Chico, CA; one sister, Lois (Israel) Merrill of Blackfoot, ID; one brother, Ted (Barbara) of Yucca Valley, CA; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held January 3 in the Malad LDS 5th Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery with military rites accorded by the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post #65.
