Thomas E. Nibert

Nibert_Thomas E._
Thomas E. Nibert, pioneer teacher, passed away at the St. Mark’s hospital at Salt Lake on December 26, after an illness of four weeks.
Gangrene, that dread disease which is considered incurable and relievable only by amputation, was the cause of Mr. Nibert’s death. The disease which first attacked his toe, spread very rapidly, and by the time he was operated upon, it was necessary to amputate his leg above the knee. But even this failed to check the disease.
Mr. Nibert was born at Bladen, Ohio, and was fifty-nine years of age. He came to Utah when a young man. After teaching school there a year or two, he came to Oneida County, and for more than a quarter of a century he had taught school in Oneida County. Mr. Nibert was a very capable teacher.
He is survived by a wife and one son, Caleb.
