THOMAS CLIFFORD RICHARDS

Funeral Saturday for Thos. Clifford Richards

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Benson Funeral Home for Thomas Clifford Richards, age 71, who died May 3rd [1972] at Bingham Memorial Hospital, Blackfoot.

Counselor Lloyd Sorensen of the Malad LDS Third Ward officiated. Speakers were Bishop Jesse Hughes and Darhl Hughes, who read the obituary. Family prayer was offered by Joseph W. Ward Jr.; invocation, Gary Parry; benediction, LaMar Thomas. Connie Budge and Rolene Gleed sang solos accompanied by Trudy Ward who also played prelude and postlude music.

At Malad City Cemetery, Raiford G. Benson offered the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were arranged by Malad Third Ward Relief Society, Ida Smith, president.

Casket bearers were Lynn Jenkins, Farrel Jenkins, Errol Thomas, Randy Hughes, Rodney Hughes and Lloyd Brittain.

Funeral arrangements were directed by Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Richards was born here April 7, 1901, a son of George L. and Sarah Jenkins Richards. He married Louvisa Faye Jenkins, Dec. 7, 1927, at Malad. She died Sept. 30, 1962. Mr. Richards was a member of the LDS Church and Modern Woodmen of America. He worked as a carpenter and plumber.

Surviving are a son and daughter, Gerald Dean, Shelley; Mrs. Darhl (Ann) Hughes, Blackfoot; seven grandchildren; a brother, Ralph, Pendleton, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Beth Orgill, Sweethome, Oregon; Mrs. Vernal Gehring, Hood River, Oregon.
