Tamra Kaye Blanchard Moss

MOSS, TAMRA KAY BLANCHARD, March 19, 1956 – May 15, 2006

Tamra Kaye Blanchard Moss, married to Ken Moss, passed away May 15, 2006 in an early morning car accident in Malad, Idaho.

She was born March 19, 1956 in Wenatchee, Washington to Hank and Myrtle Blanchard. Tammy graduated from high school in Globe, Arizona and then attended college in Thatcher, Arizona, but always considered Royal City, Washington her home. She attended Eastern Arizona College, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse her first year and a Registered nurse her second. She was always thankful that her mother pushed her into nursing.

Tammy moved to Provo, Utah where she met Ken. They were married for time and all eternity in the Provo Temple on April 14, 1978. They then moved to Malad, Idaho in 1983 where they established their home and family.

She worked as a nurse in the Oneida County Hospital for 14 years, then as an on-call nurse for various hospitals in Utah and Idaho while teaching the CAN class at Malad high School. During this time she began to work in the Emergency Room in EIRMC, and then eventually began to work there exclusively, which she enjoyed for the past six or seven years. She especially appreciated the association of the many nurses, doctors and others with whom she worked.

In her spare time, Tammy enjoyed spending time around animals, especially horses. She enjoyed the occasional family horse ride in the mountains. Tammy also kept herself busy with various projects of building and refinishing tables, saddles, and fixing up her home. She enjoyed being around her children and attending the various activities in which they were involved. Tammy was especially thankful to live so close to her in-laws and have them be a part of her life and her children’s lives.

Tammy is surved by her husband, Ken; her children, Ken (Becky), Matthew, Trisha and Karen; one grandchild, Dylan; her mother, Myrtle Blanchard of Leavenworth, Washington; one brother Dale Blanchard of Newark, California; five sisters, Lynetta Vinson of Wenatchee, Washington, Sherol Rookstool of Leavenworth, Washington, Myrna Katz (Jon) of Ames, Iowa, Shauna Ashby (Scott) of Phoenix, Arizona and Marie Blanchard of Newark, California; her father-and mother-in law, Bill and Lila Moss of Malad, Idaho, three brothers-in-law, Norval Moss (Debbie) of Salt Lake City, Utah, John Moss (Anne) of Heber, Utah, and Jim Moss (Karla) of Malad, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Hank Blanchard, and brother-in-law, Clark Rookstool.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, 2006 in the Malad Second Ward chapel, Malad, Idaho. Friends may call at the Horsley Funeral Home on Thursday evening, May 18, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the funeral home from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Her final resting place will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
