STANLEY THOMAS DIED MON., FUNERAL SET THURS.

Stanley Thomas, age 60, died August 1, 1977 in the Logan Hospital of cancer.

He was born January 3, 1917 at Malad City, a son of David P. and Mary Pierce Thomas.

He married Erma Peterson June 23, 1939 in Ogden and the marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple march 29, 1965.

He owned and operated the IGA Grocery Store in Malad; he was a graduate of Malad High School; was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a MIA Counselor. Mr. Thomas was a member of the Oneida County Fair Board; member of the Oneida County Hospital Board; member of the Chamber of Commerce and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his widow of Malad City; five sons and three daughters; David Stanley Thomas, Salt Lake City; F. Dennis Thomas, Marvin D. Thomas, Tim Thomas, Ned P. Thomas, Mrs. Lynn (Nancy) Nalder; Mrs. Jon (Ann) Ward, and Miss Connie Thomas, all of Malad City.

Also surviving is his mother, Mrs. Mary P. Thomas, Malad; eight grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters; Tom M. Thomas, Soda Springs; Boyd Thomas and Mrs. Lena Davis, both of Malad City; Mrs. Ruth Deschamps, Murray, UT; Mrs. Lucille Keene, Bountiful, UT.

Funeral service will be Thursday at noon in the Malad Second LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Wesley Crowther officiating. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were by the Benson Funeral Home.
