
STANLEY LEROY GEHRING
SUNSET, UT – Stanley Leroy Gehring, 79, passed away October 17, 2011 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. He was born October 2, 1932 in Malad, Idaho to Leroy Albert and Mary Veletta (Vee) Napier Gehring.
He married Gertrud Augusta Kittlemann (Trudy) June 21, 1957 in Nuremberg, Germany. She passed away August 8, 2000. Stanley was a veteran serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.
He graduated from South High in Salt Lake City in 1951 and attended Weber State College and received his Registered Nursing degree. Stanley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved doing temple work.
He retired from the Army after 20 years of service. He got his RN and went into nursing and enjoyed caring for the elderly. He loved hunting, fishing, puzzles, reading, gardening and building model air planes when he was younger.
He is survived by his children: Susan Christine LaTomme (Andy); Ruth A. Gehring; Stanley L. Gehring (Saralynn); 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and grandson, Ryan LaTomme.
Funeral services will be held October 20, 2011 at the Sunset 1st Ward, Sunset, UT. Interment, Camp Williams Veterans Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of Myers Roy Mortuary.
