Stanley Brigham Mansfield

MANSFIELD, STANLEY BRIGHAM, February 1, 1916 – January 1, 2008

With his four children by his side, our precious father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather joined his beloved wife, Yvonne in heaven. Born in Idaho to Heber and Laverne Mansfield, he and his family moved to Utah where he spent his formative years attending high school and college in Ogden. In 1940 he moved to Cedar City, Utah where he was a radio announcer. While there, he married Alva Kearns and they had a daughter, Susan. He moved his family to southern California and when World War II broke out he went into the Army. The marriage ended shortly after the war and he stayed in southern California. While there, he met, fell in love with and married Yvonne Hatch. Yvonne had one son, Michael and Stan and Yvonne had two children of their own, Cynthia and Jeff.

Business opportunities brought them to the Bay Area where they eventually settled in Concord. Along with raising their young family they both became active in their community. Stan and Yvonne were charter members of the Concord Little Theater, as well as the World Affairs Council. Stan always loved his work and didn’t fully retire until the age of 82.

Stan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne, in 2005 and a grandson, Steve Cox. He leaves behind his daughter Susan Goodman (PJ) and grandchildren Bob, Liz, Terri, and Glade; son, Michael Hatch (Evelyn) and grandchildren Michael, Mark and Tami; daughter Cynthia Kanuck (Jim) and grandchildren Jimmy, Matt, Bob and Nick; son Jeff Mansfield (Carolyn) and grandchildren Daniel Andres and Ariana. He also has many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

His family and friends will miss his warm smile, his laughter and his wonderful voice.

Funeral services were held in Concord, CA.
