Annis Orisa Mansfield, 86, passed away September 8, 2003 from a short illness. Born January 26, 1917 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Paul Samuel Smith and Verna Skousen Smith. Married Burgon W. Mansfield August 18, 1934, Beverly Hills, CA. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple March, 1952. She is survived by her children Dennis Burton Mansfield (Diane), SLC, and Elizabeth Ann Baker, Holladay, UT; seven grandchildren: Troy, Heather, Derek, Deidre, Mauri, Chase and Lindy, and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters: Mildred Algood (Glen) SLC, Pauline Hall (Harold), Provo, Beverly Pidgeon SLC; brothers Gale G. Smith (Joy) SLC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton and baby Brigham Paul, her parents, brothers – Dorald, Dale, infant Vernon and sisters Carma Olsen, Lavon Cole.

She was raised in Salt Lake City where she attended Jackson Elem. and graduated from West High School as Captain of the kick ball team. As a youth, she danced in a contest at the Pantageus Theatre and won first prize for an airplane ride.

Early in her married life, Annis and Burt lived in Southern California, then moved to Roy, Utah in 1949 where they remained the rest of their married life. They established Mansfield-Smith Real Estate and developed over 350 homes and commercial buildings. Her husband was killed March 1, 1960 in an airplane crash in Nogales, Mexico along with his business partner Monte Smith. She later moved to Salt Lake City. Annis was a member of the Latter-day Saints Church and actively held several positions as President of the Young Womens, First counselor of the Relief Society, President of Ladies Auxiliary of the Weber Basin Home Builders Assoc., member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Pink Ladies, volunteer at Dee Memorial Hospital, Ogden Altursa Club, Ogden Arie Elks/Does.

Annis was always a warm and fun loving person with a big heart. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends, and was the most loving Mother, Nana & Grandma.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Highland Care Center, SLC, for their love and devotion during her last years. She loved them all.

Services: Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, Friday, Sept. 12, 2003 at 12:00 noon with viewing Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 11:00 a.m. prior to service at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 Highland Dr., SLC. Interment, Roy City Cemetery, 5200 S. 2300 W., Roy, UT at 1:45 P.M.
