Former Maladian Dies In Salt Lake

Pocatello – Sherman Richardson, 45, 436 Park, died in the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City after a long illness.

He was born Nov. 23, 1915 in Malad to Oscar and Mary Ellen McKay Richardson. He had lived in Malad, in American Falls, Preston and for a short time before entering the Air Force had lived in Pocatello.

He served in World War II in the European Theatre of operation.

Mr. Richardson was married to Margaret Winona Willecke Nov. 6, 1948 in Pocatello.

He was head of the sporting goods department in Montgomery Ward’s store until April when ill health caused him to retire. He was an ardent sportsman and did much hunting and fishing. He was an officer in the Retail Clerk union and *** ***ber of the American Legion post.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his widow, Pocatello, his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dalton, McCammon; two sons, Ross Gene and Philip Paul; and a daughter, Sue len, Pocatello.

Mrs. Richardson will be at the home of her paretnts, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Willecke, 1407 Yellowstone.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the First Baptist Church and burial was in the Mountain View Cemetery.
