SYLVESTER RICHARDSON

FUNERAL HELD HERE FOR MALAD RESIDENT

Funeral services for Sylvester Richardson were conducted at the funeral home on August 24 with Dr. Thomas W. Richards presiding. Cy Price offered the invocation. Musical numbers included two solos by Miss Ludene Bailey, accompanied by Mrs. Edna Drake, and a violin solo by Miss Willie, of Brigham City, also accompanied by Miss Drake. Speakers were E. N. Crowther and W. W. Thomas. Thomas M. Hughes offered the benediction. Mayor Bensen dedicated the grave.

Sylvested Richardson was born at Malad, November 14, 1885. When six years old his family moved to Ammon, Idaho and later to Cove, Oregon where he married Elizabeth Griggs. They had eleven children — seven boys and four girls. All survive him. [He died August 17, 1945.] Later he married Velate Gibbons of Salt Lake City, who also survives him. His brothers and sisters are: Howard Richardson of Ogden, Utah; Jedd Richardson of Brigham City, Ebb Richardson of Shelley, Oscar Richardson of Malad, Ruth Rawson of Ogden, and Lola Stowell, of Brigham City.
