SCOTT REED NIELSEN
Tremonton – Scott Reed Nielsen, 38, passed away Monday, May 1, 2000 in Deweyville at the home of his parents. He was born September 19, 1961 in Ogden to Reed Owen and Aleta W. Nielsen

He spent his early years in Portage where he grew up and worked on the family farm. He graduated from Bear River High School and from Garland LDS Seminary in 1979. He married Diana Lee (Dede) Isaacson May 6, 1983 and they made their home in Tremonton.

Scott worked at Thiokol from 1982 – 1996. He was an avid, self-taught mechanic. He loved hot rod cars, engine repair, and restoring vintage cars.

He is survived by his friend and former wife, Diana, three daughters, Stephani Lee, Hayley and Sarah May, all of Tremonton.

Also surviving are his parents, Jon Z. and Aleta Thompson, Deweyville; five sisters, Natalie (Ted) Kay, West Point; Keeley (Van) Hardy, Tremonton; Jeri (Kevin) Gam Fielding; Kris (Boyd) Udy, Promontory; Traci (Mark) Forsey, Springville; Grandmothers, Mrs. Isabelle Nielsen, Logan; Mrs. Wanda Wharton, Malad, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his father Reed Owen Nielsen, one brother, Wesley Owen Nielsen, grandparents, Verdie and Clara Wharton and grandfather, J. Reed Nielsen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in the Deweyville Riverview Ward Chapel, 10750 No. Hwy 38 with Bishop Richard E. Woodworth officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, May 3 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 No. 100 E. Tremonton and Thursday from 9:15-10:15 at the church.

Interment in the Portage Cemetery.
