Mrs. Sarah Jane K. Evans, age 80, died at the Oneida County Hospital of natural causes. She was born June 12, 1889 at Malad City, to Daniel Richards and Ann Elizabeth Colton Kniveton Evans. She never married.

She was chief operator for Mountain States Telephone Co. at Malad for 45 years. She was an active member of the LDS Church, having served as Sunday School teacher, MIA leader, and Relief Society visiting teacher. She also was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Survivors are one sister, Charlotte K. Evans, Malad City, and several nephews and nieces.
