One of MALAD Valley’s earlier pioneers, Mrs. Jedd Jones Sr. 93 died at her home in Malad Tuesday afternoon of causes incident to age.
Mrs. Jones, a daughter of Thomas and Mary Davis Daniels, was born at Brigham City, Utah, April 20, 1861. When five years old she came to Malad with her parents and had resided here since. She was educated at Malad and on March 20, 1883 she was married to Jedd Jones Sr. at Malad. The couple, parents of five children, observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1933. Mr. Jones, organizer and first president of Malad’s First National Bank, died in 1938.
A member of the LDS Church, Mrs. Jones once served as a counselor in the Malad Stake YWMIA; was a charter member of the War Mothers, Oneida County chapter; charter member of the American Legion Auxillary, Ernest W. Jones Post, and a charter member of the Malad Kensington Club.

Survivors include one son, Lawrence D. Jones, Malad; one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Tapper, Malad; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; also three brothers and one sister, John M Daniels, Caldwell, Idaho; Mrs Elva Reese and George Daniels both of Malad; Henry Daniels, Long Beach, Calif.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 25, at 2 P.M. in the Malad LDS Second Ward chapel.

Friends may call at the family home, 242 North Main St., Thursday evening and Friday until time of the services.

Interment will be in the Malad City cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
