Funeral Rites for Mrs. Ruth Price

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Williams Price, 74, who died at her home in Samaria Friday [March 6, 1964] after a long illness, were held Monday afternoon at the Samaria LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Carl Evans officiating.

Family prayer at the home was by Colen H. Sweeten, Sr.

Speakers at the chapel services were Bishop Evans, John Roderick, Wayne Meyers. Anna Meyers gave the obituary. The invocation was by Wendell Wiser and the benediction by David Varga. Musical numbers were vocal duet, Don and Mary Alice Williams; vocal solo, Leora Brown; vocal solo, Jenkin Palmer. Organ and prelude music was by Jackilyn Price.

Concluding rites were at the Samaria Cemetery with Khalil Scott offering the dedicatory prayer.

Casket bearers were Ted Varga, Clark Parker, Allen Powell, Ren Knudsen, Tom Scott, Russell Price.

Mrs. Price was born March 27, 1889, at Samaria, the daughter of Jeremiah Hodge and Ruth Williams. She was married to John M. Price at Malad, Feb. 9, 1907, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.

A member of the LDS Church, she held many offices in auxilary[auxiliary]organizations.

Surviving are her husband; four sons, Cleo W. of Verdi, Nevada; Jerry D. of Bountiful, Utah; John W. and William W. of Malad; nine daughters, Mrs. Rudy (Verda) Varga, Tucson, Arizona; Mrs. William (Ruth) Powell, Clifton; Mrs. Oral A. (Mary) Behunin, Lodi, Calif.; Mrs. Clifton (Pearl) Sterrett, Talent, Oregon; Mrs. Eddie (Lucille) Leavitt, Rigby; Mrs. Lamont H. (Alta) Knudsen, Granger, Utah; Mrs. Ralph (Faye) Parker, Sandy, Utah; Mrs. Royce (Ann) Griffith, Newport Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Khalil (Patsy) Scott, Malad; 53 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Henry W. Williams, Ojai, Calif.; Llewellyn Williams, Malad.
