Ruth Davis Lowry

Ruth Davis Lowry, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died and returned to our Father in Heaven, on March 16. 1992 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She will be dearly missed.

Born September 1, 1913, in Centerville, Utah, the daughter of John Stuart and Alice Randall Davis. Married Kenneth Lowry March 11, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah; later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Ruth was a member of the LDS Church and held many church positions in the Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School and Young Women’s organizations; and was a hostess on Temple Square. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Ruth spent some time as a realtor and was the secretary to the State Librarian at the Utah State Library Commission for 18 years. Ruth was most happy when working with young people.

Preceded in death by a son, Charles James Lowry. Survived by her husband, Kenneth, Salt Lake City; two sons, Kenneth (Judy), Shepherd, Montana and Donald D. (Sherilyn), Salt Lake City; daughter-in-law, Elaine Lowry, Sandy; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elva D. Hill, Salt Lake City, and Delma Davis (Robert), Portland, Oregon; and two brothers, David J. Davis (Hollis), Salt Lake City, and Rollin S. Davis (Margaret), Bennion.

Funeral services were held on March 20 at 1:00 at the East Millcreek 11th Ward. Interment was at the Larkin Sunset Gardens of the Valley. Funeral Directors: Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
