Isabella Clegg Thorne Loebsack

LOEBSACK, ISABELLA CLEGG THORNE, November 30, 1911 – March 31, 2004

POCATELLO – Isabella Clegg Thorne Loebsack, 92, of Pocatello and formerly of Rockland and American Falls, passed away march 31, 2004 at a local care center from causes incident to age. She was born November 30, 1911 in Downey, Idaho, a daughter of John Edwin and Evelina Edora West Clegg. She attended school in Downey.

On April 3, 1929 she married Myrle John Thorne in American Falls. He passed away March 19, 1935. She married Leslie Becker and they later divorced. She married George Loebsack in 1944. He passed away in 1966. She lived in Rockland, American Falls and Rupert, Idaho prior to coming to Pocatello in about 1967.

She was a member of the LDS Church. She served as a Relief Society visiting teacher and also served a temple mission to the Idaho Falls Temple. She enjoyed needlework such as crocheting and embroidering. She also liked fishing, camping, the outdoors and spending time with her family who will miss her greatly.

Survivors include two sons, Maurice E. (Gilda) Thorne, Springfield, OR; Myrlon J. (Cheryl) Thorne, Aloha, OR; two daughters, Donna M. Tilley, Pocatello; Evelyn (Ray) McLean, Rockland, Idaho; two step-daughters, Luella (Rex) Chamberlain, Grand Coulee, WA; Connie (Denny) Calhoun, Sherwood Oaks, AK; a brother, Kenneth (Clair) Clegg, Alameda, CA; 20 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, four brothers, five sisters, an infant daughter, Easter Beth Thorne; a grandson; and a step-daughter, Shirley Loebsack Elliott.

Graveside funeral services will be April 5, 2004 in the Valleyview Cemetery in Rockland, Idaho. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
