FUNERAL TODAY FOR MRS. RUTH THOMAS

Mrs. Ruth Bybee Thomas, 70, died June 2, 1953 at the Oneida County Hospital of a heart condition. Mrs. Thomas had been hospitalized since May 16th.

Mrs. Thomas was born June 9, 1882 at Lewiston, Utah, a daughter of Alfred A. Bybee and Emily Maria Price Bybee. She was married at Preston, ID, Nov. 8, 1944 to John E. Thomas.

Mrs. Thomas was reared and educated in Lewiston, and attended the UAC at Logan from 1901 to 1903. She also attended the Wilson Tailoring School at Logan, 1903-05. A member of the LDS Church, she served as secretary of the Lewiston Third Ward Sunday School for five years and also as secretary of the Primary of the Lewiston First Ward. In Oneida County, she was active in the Relief Society of the Reynolds Ward of the Malad Stake.

Surviving are her husband, John E. Thomas; three step daughters, Mrs. Blanche T. Miller, Davenport, IA; Miss Ruth b. Thomas, Provo, UT; Mrs. Gwen T. Anderson, Downey, ID; three step grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jane B. Larsen, Lewiston, UT; Mrs. Maria Browning, Downey, ID; Mrs. Sarah B. Peterson, Pocatello.

Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. in the Malad LDS Third Ward with Bishop Jesse Hughes in charge.

Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
