FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. RUTH G. THOMAS, 65

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Malad Fourth LDS Ward Chapel for Mrs. Ruth Lavina Goddard Thomas, age 65, who died Sept. 2, 1972 at an Ogden hospital of a long illness.

Mrs. Thomas was born August 13, 1907 at Malad, the daughter of Eli and Ann Eliza Thomas Goddard. She was married to Edward Oscar Thomas on May 1, 1938 at Preston. Mr. Thomas died on Oct. 29, 1949. She received her education in Malad City schools and was a member of the LDS Church. She moved to Ogden in 1967.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Craig (Beverly) Green, Salt lake City; Mrs. Ronald (Ana Lee) Williams and Mrs. Merlin (Patsy) Deschamps, both of Ogden; seven grandchildren; a brother, Don E. Goddard, Malad; four sisters, Mrs. LeRoy (Cleo) Lillywhite, Covina, CA; Mrs. Blanche Coombs, Garland; Mrs. Cecil (Amelia) Haskell and Mrs. Eugene (Iona) Udy, both of Ogden.

Elden Archibald officiated and gave the obituary. The speaker was Bishop W.W. Thomas. Family prayer was offered by LeRoy Lillywhite; invocation by R. Merlin Deschamps, and benediction by Ronald O. Williams. A vocal duet was presented by Leora Brown and Foster Ipsen and two solos by Helen E. Jones. Carla Dawn G. Williams was the accompanist and also played prelude and postlude music.

At Malad City Cemetery, Raiford G. Benson offered the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by members of the Malad Fourth Ward Relief Society, family and friends.

Casket bearers were Merlin Deschamps, Eugene Udy, Ronald Williams, Cecil Haskell, Craig Green, Don Goddard, Carl Fuhriman and Lee Haskell.

Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
