RUTH THOMAS

Ruth B. Thomas, 64, of Provo died August 20, 1966 in the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

She was born August 1, 1922 in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of John E. and Mahala Bybee Thomas.

She grew up and was educated in Malad and graduated from Malad High School in 1940.

She then attended Brigham Young University for one year, then received a degree in pharmacy at Idaho State University. She later returned to BYU and earned a teaching certificate.

She had worked in Idaho Falls at the Joy Drugstore for two years and at the Walgreen Drug in Provo. She taught school at Springville High School as a home economic’s teacher.

For the past 24 years she had worked as a pharmacist for Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She retired in 1985.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as president of the YWMIA, as Jr. Sunday School coordinator and had taught in Relief Society and Sunday School. She served a mission to the Central States Mission from 1946-47.

Survivors include two sisters: Mrs. Clive (Gwen) Anderson of Downey, ID and Mrs. Blanche T. Miller of Provo; two nieces and four nephews.

Services will be Saturday in the Berg Mortuary, Provo, Utah.
