RULON WINWARD

PRESTON – Rulon “W.” Winward, 52, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at his home after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 20, 1948, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Woodrow “W.” and Margaret Geddes Head Winward. He served an LDS mission to Ohio from 1968-70.

He married Dana Margo Daniels on April 2, 1971, in the Logan Utah temple.

He graduated from BYU in 1973. He worked as a soil scientist for USDA. He was active in the LDS Church, having served as Scoutmaster and in many other Scouting capacities. He loved helping with computers for district and state wrestling and track. He had many talents, and loved to share them with others. He loved his family, and was always there to support them. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Dana, of Preston; three sons and four daughters, Rulon Max (Jennifer) Winward, Preston, Nathan Woodrow (Dionne) Winward, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Melissa (Jason) Brockett, Salt Lake City, Utah, Lori (Charles) Harris, Pocatello, Idaho, Megan (Jacob) Stoker, Preston, Lana Winward, Trevor Winward, both of Preston; eight grandchildren, Michael, Dilan, Alex, Brynn Wyatt, Colten, Jordan, and Emily, whom he loved dearly; and by four sisters, Diane Archibald, Bountiful, Utah, Sandy Nelson, Klamath Falls, Oregon, Tami (David) Miner, Sierra Vista, Arizona, Elizabeth (Dennis) Woolf, Preston. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a son, Kent Daniel Winward.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in the Whitney First Ward Chapel, with Bishop Russell Durrant conducting. Friends may call tonight, Thursday, Dec. 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Friday from 10:30 am. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Whitney Cemetery.
