Roland Parris

Moreland – Roland Parris, 49, of Moreland, a custom home builder, died Nov. 5, 1993, at his home of cancer.

He was born Aug. 25, 1944, at Malad, to Verl P. and C Marie Myers Parris. He attended schools in Arimo before moving to the Blackfoot area when he was 10.

In 1964, he married Wanda Farnworth at Riverside. They later divorced. In October 1980, he married Judith Peterson at Las Vegas. He worked as a supervisor at Sunspiced in Blackfoot until 1978, then worked as a custom home builder, installing siding and most recently roofing.

He was a member of the LDS Church. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, horses and playing guitar.

Survivors include his wife of Moreland; a daughter, Kimarie Parris of Nampa; his mother of Moreland; four brothers and two sister, Mitchell “Mick” Parris of Pingree, Dan Parris of Phoenix, Jacob Parris and Delbert “Red” Parris, both of Blackfoot, Patricia Henkle of Burley, and LuAnn Huffman of Boardman, Ore.; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Moreland LDS Church with Bishop Rex Young officiating. The family will visit with friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Hill-Sandberg Funeral Home in Blackfoot and Tuesday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.
