MALAD – Richard “Dick” Jenkins Davis, 59, Malad, died Sunday in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was born Feb. 24, 1928 in Malad, to Hyrum LeRoy and Ruth Castleton Davis. He grew up and attended schools in Malad until he was 13 years old. The family then moved to Oceanside, Calif., where Mr. Davis graduated from Ramona High School.

After graduation, he worked at a shoe repair shop.

He married Barbara Irene Ransom, Oct. 16, 1949. She died July 12, 1975.

In 1952, Mr. Davis was drafted into the Army. After his discharge in 1954, he worked for Camp Pendleton for five years. He later worked for Landis Shoe Machine Company. In 1980 he moved back to Malad.

He was a member of the LDS Church and a member of the Ernest Jones Post, No 65, American Legion.

He is survived by four daughters, Diana Davis and Mrs. Clarence (Beverly) Mauhili, both of Oceanside, Calif., Mrs. Pete (Laura) Milone, Bossier, La., and Marsha Davis, Leavenworth, Kan.; four grandchildren; one brother, Arthur C. Davis, Boise; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Cleo) Schwartztue (Schwartz) (Tew), Malad, Mrs. Don (Gloria) Johnson, Lake Stevens, Wash., and Mrs. Stan (Ruby) Jones, Pocatello. One brother preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be Saturday at noon at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.

Richard Jenkins Davis, 59, of Malad died March 1, 1987, in Los (Las)
Vegas, Nevada. He was born February 24, 1928 in Malad, Idaho, the son of Hyrum LeRoy and Ruth Castleton Davis. He grew up and attended schools in Malad until he was 13 years of age. The family then moved to Oceanside, California where Mr. Davis graduated from Ramona High School.

He is survived by four daughter(s): Diana Davis, Oceanside, California; Mrs. Pete (Laura) Milone, Rossier, Louisianna (sp Louisiana); Mrs. Clarence (Beverly) Mauhili, Oceanside, Falicornia (sp. California); Miss Marsha Davis, Leavenworth, Kansas; four grandchildren; one brother, Arthur C. Davis, Boise, Idaho; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Cleo Schwartz) Tew, Malad, Idaho; Mrs. Don (Gloria) Johnson, Lake Stevens, Washontin (sp. Washington); Mrs. Stan (Rudy)(sp Ruby) Jones, Pocatello, Idaho; one borther (sp brother) preceeded (sp preceded) him in death.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 noon at the Benson – Horsley Funeral Home in Malad on Saturday, March 7, 1987. Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
