RICHARD THOMAS DIES IN FREMONT

ST. ANTHONY – Jan. 23 – Richard Edmond Thomas, 73, a resident of Teton Valley since 1905 died at a St. Anthony hospital Saturday morning from a short illness. He was admitted to the hospital Friday night.

Mr. Thomas was born at Malad City, Feb. 23, 1882, a son of Richard Edmond and Hannah Peterson Thomas. He spent his early life at Malad City and Cache Valley and was married to Lucy Hansen Jan. 13, 1904. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Following their marriage they lived at Logan until the spring of 1905 when they moved to Idaho, settling at Clawson, Tetonia RFD, where Mr. Thomas homesteaded. The family continued to live there until Mrs. Thomas died June 20, 1950. Since that time Mr. Thomas has spent most of his time with a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Bradley, St. Anthony.

Mr. Thomas was an Elder in the LDS Church at the time of his death. He is survived by nine sons and daughters: Jesse Thomas, Mrs. Edna Fullmer, Tetonia; Lloyd Thomas, Redwood City, CA; Mrs. Maude Archibald and Paul Thomas, Teton; Mrs. Bernice Allen and Mrs. Lily Spencer, Drummond, MT; Mrs. Mamie Bradley, St. Anthony; and Mrs. Thelma Jackson, Driggs; 41 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one brother and three sisters: Emrys Thomas, Salt Lake City, UT; Mrs. Made Sawyer, Pocatello; Mrs. Vella Edwards, Malad City; and Mrs. Della Kitsell, Idaho Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at the Clawson LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Spencer B. Little officiating. Interment will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery under the direction of the Hansen Funeral Home of St. Anthony.
