REVA T. LARSON

OGDEN – After a wonderful journey here on earth, I was called home to live with my Heavenly Father Thursday, July 21, 2005.

My mission began Friday June 23, 1920 in Malad, Idaho. I was the third child of Basel Alexander Toponce and Janey Fanny Fisher. I attended Weber State College and graduated from Malad High School where I participated in sports, basketball, track and high jump.

I married my sweetheart Clifton Blaine Larson in Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 29, 1939. We shared 55 wonderful years together and were blessed with five children: Kaylene, Dean, Trudy, Terry and Ila Jean.

We served a United States A.I.D. assignment a Haile Sellasie I University in Addis Absaba, Ethiopia, where I assisted in setting up a library for the blind. We served together in the Ogden LDS Temple, and a mission at the Johannesburg, South Africa Temple. We traveled extensively around the world. On October 21, 1994, I lost my sweetheart Clifton.

I had the opportunity to serve as President: Weber College Faculty Women; Patio Springs Ladies Association; Child Culture Club; Weber South Company Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, at the time we placed a monument for Malan’s Peak on the Ogden East Stake Grounds, and Captain of Camp Wasatch. In 1997 I was honored to be Utah Centennial Ogden Pioneer Days Queen.

I served in two LDS Stake Primary Presidencies, Farr West and Ogden East, and wife of a Bishop and may other church callings.

I was preceded in death by my husband, one brother Emmett Toponce, and two great-grandchildren. I am survived by five children: Kaylene Lott (Val); Dean Larson (Pat); Trudy Firestack (Tom); Terrey Thiel; Ila Jean (Jeanie) Hansen (Clay); eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; one brother Ivan R. Toponce; my dog Skeeter, a loving companion.

A special thanks to my family and friends for their love and care. In my last days, a special thanks to Jeanette Kubricky and Vista Care.

I lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Clifton and Reva Larson Scholarship Fund at Weber State University at: C.R. Larson Scholarhip [ sic]-1137 University Circle, Ogden, Utah 84408.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at the Waterfall Canyon Ward, (formerly Ogden 41st Ward) 3254 Polk Ave., Ogden, with Bishop Brian Smith officiating.

Friends may call at the Larkin & Sons Mortuary, 496 24th St., Ogden, Tuesday, July 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the ward Wednesday, from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
