Ramona Jean Kissel

Ramona Jean Kissel was born February 1, 1948, in Pocatello, Idaho. She was the oldest daughter of Robert Dale Lloyd and Ila Karlene Romriell Lloyd. Ramona lived in Inkom Idaho next door to her best friend Virginia until 1956. In the spring of 1956. The family moved to a small farm between Inkom and McCammon on Upper Rock Creek Road. The place that used to be known as Onyx Idaho. She had two younger brothers at the time. Three younger sisters were born later. Ramona attended McCammon Elementary School the first two years and then Inkom Elementary. She graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1966.

After graduation Ramona went to work at Lamb Weston in American Falls. She had cousins that lived in American Falls that had two small children. Ramona moved in with her cousins and would help care for the children when she wasn’t working. After about a year, Ramona moved to Brigham City Utah and worked a caregiver for an elderly lady. Ramona remembered this as a fun time in her life.

On August 24, 1968, Ramona married George Albert Kissel. The couple moved to American Falls. They served as Foster Parents for many years. They adopted three beautiful children one boy and two girls. Ramona and Albert divorced later.

Ramona then moved to McCammon Idaho with her two daughters Misty and Kara. To support herself and her girls she started a daycare. Later she started working in Lava Hot Springs at the assisted living center. She worked the night shift until her retirement. Ramona always loved children. Taking care of others was her calling in life.

Ramona was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is survived by her daughters, Misty Jean (Chris) Smith and Kara Dawn Tsosie (Alex Graves), both of Pocatello, Idaho. Brothers Ronald (Cheryl) Lloyd from McCammon, Idaho; Duane (Sharlene) Lloyd from Hayden Lake, Idaho. Sisters Darla (Merrill) Marley, Arimo, Idaho; Holly (Steven) Tanner, Arimo, Idaho; and Karen (Robert) Pugh, Hampstead, North Carolina. Five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Karlene Lloyd; her son John Karl Kissel her grandparents John and Ruby Lloyd; Karl and Ellen Romriell and Marian Romriell.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 7th @ McCammon Church at 11am. You may visit with the family from 10:00 am to 10:45 am before the services. Burial will be at the Inkom Cemetery
