MALAD – Ramona Hughes Jones, 79, of Malad, died Friday, June 17, 1994 in the Oneida County Hospital. She was born January 26, 1915 in Pleasantview, Idaho, a daughter of James Roberts and Elizabeth Jenkins Hughes. She grew up and was educated in Malad, was a graduate of Malad High School. She married William Clifford Jones August 20, 1938 in Ogden, Utah and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Jones died October 25, 1965. Following the death of her husband, she attended Idaho State University and received her LPN Nursing degree. Since then, she had worked for the Oneida County Hospital until her retirement in 1993. She was an active member of the LDS Church and had held various positions in Primary, Y.M.M.I.A., Sunday School and relief society. She had also been active in 4-H as a club leader, PTA, and was a member of the home culture club.

She is survived by sons and their wives, Rod and Donna Jones, Albert and Jo Del Jones all of Malad; Bill and Sue Jones of Evanston, Wyoming, 5 daughters and spouses; Emma and John Fichera of Hartford, Ct.; Nancy Hendricks of Malad; Lynette and Orlando Millward of Blackfoot; Kay and Doug Hawkins of Grantsville, Ut.; Debbie and Ed Parks of Vancouver, Wa.; 33 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 2 sister, Rachael Smith of Smithfield, Ut., and Virginia Camp of Hamer, Id. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 sisters, 1 brother and 2 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel, 400 N. 200 W., with President Brent Evanson, officiating. Friends may call at the stake chapel today from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery. Arrangements by Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, Malad.

Ramona Hughes Jones, 79, of Malad, died early today, June 17, 1994, in the Oneida County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, at 11 a.m. in the Malad LDS Fourth Ward Chapel, 400 N. 200 W. Friends may call at the church on Sunday, June 19, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A complete obituary will appear in Sunday’s Idaho State Journal.
