RALPH ROGHAAR

Ralph Roghaar died Oct. 19th at Montpelier

Ralph Roghaar, 57, died October 19th, 1978 in a Montpelier Hospital following a long illness.

Mr. Roghaar [Born on January 16, 1921] taught school at Holbrook during the 1941-42 school year. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Utah State University, Logan. He served as principal of Emerson Elementary School and also principal of Fielding High School at Paris. He was superintendent of North Summit School District in Coalville and superintendent of Bear Lake County District No. 33 in Montpelier until he retired due to ill health in 1976.

He was active in school, civic and church activities, member of the LDS Church, past president of Fifth District Superintendent’s Association and had membership in the Idaho and American Association of School Superintendents. He had served as secretary of the Bear Lake County Library Board.

Survivors include his widow, Norma Rogers, Montpelier; two sons, two daughters, 5 grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters, including Mrs. H. Ward Thomas of Malad.

Funeral services were held at Montpelier October 24th.
