FUNERAL RITES FOR RAECHAL THOMAS

Funeral services were conducted October 27 at 2 p.m. at the Stake tabernacle for Mrs. Raechal Thomas, 65, wife of Daniel R. Thomas, who passed away at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 1947 at the family residence.

Prayer at the home was offered by L.G. Corbridge. Bishop Jess Hughes presided at the service. Mrs. Emma S. Ward played the prelude and postlude; Arch Harris gave the invocation and Hubert Gleed offered the benediction. Bishop Hughes gave a history of her life and Dr. O.H. Mabey, J.M. Isaacson and J.P. Jensen were the speakers. The musical numbers consisted of vocal solo, Stillman Harris, accompanied by Mrs. Pauline Atkinson; quartet, Joe, Golden, Moroni and George Ward, accompanied by Mrs. Emma S. Ward and violin solo, Mrs. Fern Willie, accompanied by Mrs. Pauline Atkinson.

Interment was in the city cemetery with Guy Benson dedicating the grave.

Mrs. Raechal Elizabeth Thomas was the daughter of Amelia Ann and Ephriam E. Jones and was born May 14, 1882 at Malad, Idaho. She ws married to Daniel R. Thomas November 28, 1901. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the LDS Church, Relief Society teacher for 25 years, member of the Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers station number four and chaplain of war mothers.

She is survived by her husband and the following children: Amelia Thomas, Pocatello; Sara J. Crose, Blanche J. Foster, D. Roy Thomas, Long Beach, CA; and LaMar J. Thomas, Malad; eight grandchildren, Grant Moss, Shirley Thomas, Marlene Thomas, DeAnn Thomas, Malad; Carrol Crose, Jeanette Crose, Hal Foster and Stephen Foster, Long Beach; one great grandchild, Marilyn Moss, Malad, a step mother, Mrs. Eph E. Jones, St. John and the following sisters, Mrs. Margaret Harrison, Los Angeles; Mrs. Edith Peck, Ogden and Mrs. Zeta Davis, Coalville, UT.
